Stadt, Land, Berg und Fluss

Die Grafiken mit Ansichten vom Untersberg, die Materialbilder zur Glan und das Objekt „cloudmountain“ haben eines gemeinsam. Idee und Schritte der Realisierung sind beim Gehen geboren und gereift. Zahlreiche Spaziergänge und Wanderungen liegen ihnen zugrunde:

Die Ansichten und Jahreszeiten auf Wegen in der Stadt und ihrer Umgebung.

Die Glanzeitreise entlang des Bachs Glan von ihren Ursprüngen auf dem Untersberg durch die Stadt bis zur Mündung in die Salzach.

Die Metapher für Wolke und Berg beim Besteigen und Ergehen des Untersbergs und seiner entlegenen Abhänge.

Dabei spielt die Zeit eine Rolle; die erlebte Zeit beim Gehen ebenso wie die geologische Zeit, die über die letzte Eiszeit vor 10.000 Jahren bis in die Millionen Jahre der Gebirgsbildung zurückreicht.

Zeit wird aber auch sichtbar und erlebbar durch die Veränderungen, welche die Erosion bewirkt und wie sie beständig das Gebirge abträgt.

Wasser, Eis, Regen Sonne und Kälte hinterlassen ihre Zeit-Spuren.

Und da ist dann noch der Wandel, der durch den Menschen bewirkt wurde, die Transformation von der Naturlandschaft in Kulturlandschaft durch Rodung und Regulierung.

Eine Gemeinsamkeit mit den historischen Künstlern liegt im Zugang zu den Motiven. Es liegen ja kaum 6 Generationen zwischen uns. Emotional hat sich da nichts verändert. Auch sie haben sich ihre Motive und Themen erwandert. Aber wir leben mit einer anderen Geschwindigkeit. Sie haben die Landschaft zu einer Zeit erlebt, als es noch keine Debatte um das Anthropozän gab, denn wir leben in einer Zeit, in der Mensch zu einem „geologischen Faktor“ (Paul Crutzen) geworden ist, der die biologischen, geologischen und atmosphärischen Prozesse auf der Erde beeinflusst.

Alles zusammen ist auch (m)eine Reflexion über unseren Umgang mit der Ressource Natur, deren Folgen wir gerade zu spüren bekommen.

City, country, mountain and river

The prints with views of the Untersberg, the material images of the Glan and the object „cloudmountain“ have one thing in common. The idea and steps of realization are born and matured while walking. Numerous walks and hikes underlie them:

The views and seasons on paths in the city and its surroundings.

The “Glanzeitreise” along the stream Glan from its origins on the Untersberg crossing the city of Salzburg to the mouth of the Salzach.

The metaphor for cloud and mountain when climbing and walking the Untersberg and its remote slopes.

Time plays a role here; the time experienced during walking as well as the geological time, which goes back from the last ice age 10,000 years ago to the millions of years of mountain formation.

But time also becomes visible and tangible through the changes that erosion causes and how it constantly breaks the mountains.

Water, ice, rain Sun and cold leave their traces of time.

And then there is the change that has been brought about by mankind, the transformation from the natural landscape to the cultural landscape through deforestation and regulation.

A commonality with the historical artists lies in the access to the motifs. There are hardly 6 generations between us. Emotionally, nothing has changed. But we live at a different speed.They, too, have explored their motifs and themes by walking. And they experienced the landscape at a time when there was no debate about the Anthropocene, because we live in a time when man has become a „geological factor“ (Paul Crutzen) that influences the biological, geological and atmospheric processes on Earth.

All together is also (m)a reflection on our handling of the resource nature, the consequences of which we are currently feeling.

Città, campagna, montagna e fiume

La grafica con vista sull‘ Untersberg, le immagini materiali del Glan e l’oggetto „cloudmountain“ hanno una cosa in comune. L’idea e i passi della realizzazione nascono e maturano camminando. Numerose passeggiate ed escursioni sono alla loro base: I panorami e le stagioni sui sentieri della città e dei suoi dintorni. Il “Glanzeitreise” lungo le sponde del  Glan dalle sue origini sull’Untersberg fino alla foce del Salzach. La metafora della nuvola e della montagna quando si scala e si cammina sull’Untersberg e sui suoi pendii remoti.

Il tempo gioca un ruolo qui; il tempo vissuto durante la camminata così come il tempo geologico, che risale all’ultima era glaciale di 10.000 anni fa, ai milioni di anni di formazione delle montagne. Ma il tempo diventa visibile e tangibile anche attraverso i cambiamenti che l’erosione provoca e come cambia costantemente le montagne.

Acqua, ghiaccio, pioggia, sole e freddo lasciano le loro tracce nel tempo. E poi c’è il cambiamento che è stato portato dall’uomo, la trasformazione dal paesaggio naturale al paesaggio culturale attraverso la deforestazione e la regolamentazione. Una comunanza con gli artisti storici risiede nell’accesso ai motivi. Non ci sono quasi 6 generazioni tra di noi. Emotivamente, nulla è cambiato. Ma noi viviamo ad una velocità diversa. Anche loro hanno esplorato i loro motivi e temi. E hanno sperimentato il paesaggio in un momento in cui non c’era dibattito sull’Antropocene, perché viviamo in un tempo in cui l’uomo è diventato un fattore geologico (Paul Crutzen) che influenza i processi biologici, geologici e atmosferici sulla Terra.

Per me tutto insieme è anche una riflessione sulla nostra gestione della natura delle risorse, le cui conseguenze stiamo attualmente sentendo.
